Narrative
A pickup truck driver was ejected from his seat and hospitalized after a trailer hit his car as he crossed HW 491 on Country Road N on Dec. 7th. The 20 year-old man was hit at 7:30a.m. while on his way to work and was hospitalized first at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Authorities believe that this driver was not using his seat belt. The driver of the trailer was not injured and is not being held responsible. Traffic was diverted from the area until about 10a.m. The following authorities responded to the scene: Colorado State Patrol, Southwest Health System ambulance, Cortez Fire Protection District, Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, and Colorado Department of Transportation.
