Narrative
DENVER, CO – One person died, and another went to the hospital Tuesday after a crash involving a vehicle and a bicycle along the interstate in Denver.
The collision occurred around 4:30 a.m. on I-76 near Sheridan Boulevard, which is just north of Willis Case Golf Course and west of Lowell Ponds State Wildlife Area.
The circumstances of the accident are still under review, but police say a vehicle caught fire after overturning along the interstate. At some point during the accident, the vehicle struck the cyclist near the center median.
The cyclist died at the scene of the crash. Authorities haven’t yet released their identity to the public.
Medics transported the driver of the vehicle to the hospital with serious injuries.
