DENVER, CO – One person died, and two people sustained injuries Sunday in a vehicle versus pedestrian crash in downtown
The incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. at the Denver Rescue Mission, near the intersection of Lawrence and 22nd Streets.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a car struck a pedestrian in front of the shelter. The victim was sitting on the steps when the car hit them.
The pedestrian died not long after transport to an area hospital.
Medics also transported the driver of the vehicle and a passenger to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
