Narrative
BOULDER, CO – One person was hospitalized, and another was arrested last Wednesday following a bicycle crash on the northeast outskirts of Boulder.
The accident happened shortly before 11 a.m. at the intersection of 63rd Street and Spine Road, which is just northwest of Eaton Park and the Boulder Country Day School.
Police say that the driver of a northbound Ford F150 pickup truck ran a red light and struck an eastbound cyclist.
The driver fled the scene, while medics transported the cyclist to the hospital with serious injuries.
Not long after the wreck, authorities located and arrested the driver of the Ford on multiple charges, including a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury. Officials identified the driver as 46-year-old Dustin Kelsey.
The investigation is ongoing.
