Narrative
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A 61-year-old man died late last month in a two-vehicle crash at a busy intersection on the northeast side of Colorado Springs.
The accident occurred around 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 21st, at Constitution Avenue and Alpine Drive, which is just east of Wasson Park and northwest of Citadel Mall.
Police say that a westbound pickup truck struck an eastbound Toyota Rav4 when the driver of the latter vehicle initiated a left turn on Alpine Drive.
The driver of the Rav4, identified as Charles Carlton, died after transport to an area hospital.
No other injuries have been referenced in connection to the crash.
Authorities say that one of the drivers may have been intoxicated when the accident happened.
A full investigation is underway.
