Narrative
While driving to a break-in, a police vehicle t-boned another car that drove into its path on Chambers Rd. on March 4th. The cop car did not have any sirens or emergency lights turned on. However, the other vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, sped in front of the car at an intersection when it did not have the right of way as the Toyota did not yield to a stop sign. At 8:20p.m., the cop car hit the Toyota on the passenger side. The police vehicle flipped and landed on its back. The police officer was severely injured, partly because he was not wearing a seat belt. The driver of the Toyota passed away at a hospital. He had been utilizing his seatbelt, but is suspected of having been intoxicated at the time. Neither driver’s identity has been made known to the public. There are two investigations into this case, one being run by the Colorado State Patrol investigation and the other being led by the Aurora Police Department.
