COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A driver of a car was sent to the hospital after trying to pass an unmarked police vehicle on the 100 block of West Brookside Street Wednesday. This collision happened around 10 a.m. The driver of the car passed the marked police vehicle when the driver of the police cruiser drove west and wanted to go southbound. When the driver attempted the pass, he or she struck a street sign and a tree before the car came to a rest. The driver of the police car was unharmed, while the driver of the car sustained unspecified injuries. It is unclear if charges are pending.
