Narrative
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – An 8-year-old child riding a scooter was taken to a hospital as a precaution on Tuesday after they were struck by a vehicle near Explorer Park. Police were dispatched to the scene after 8 a.m. Little information about this crash has been made available (including the condition of the child). However, police did confirm that the motorist’s vision was obstructed by the sun, leading them to unintentionally hit the child. The elementary school student did use a crosswalk. The driver remained at the scene; no pending charges were revealed.
