Narrative
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A 46-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a driver while walking outside Discount Tire on North Academy Boulevard around 4 a.m. Wednesday. Police do not believe that the driver – a 61-year-old man – was impaired or speeding. They do speculate, however, that the motorist was swerving to avoid hitting an object on the road, leading him to strike the man. They also said that there was not much lighting, which could have also been a factor. Officials will continue to investigate the crash.
