Narrative
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – One person died Saturday night after a two-vehicle accident at a busy intersection in the Briargate area of Colorado Springs.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. at the intersection of eastbound Briargate Parkway and southbound Chapel Hills Drive. This is just west of John Venezia Community Park.
Police say that an eastbound vehicle collided with a westbound vehicle when the driver of the latter car attempted to make a left turn onto Chapel Hills.
Medics transported both drivers to the hospital with serious injuries. One the victims later died. Authorities have not yet released their name to the public.
Officials closed roadways in the area of the collision while crews worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
