WELLINGTON, CO – One person died, and another went to the hospital after a major accident along the highway in northeast Larimer County.
The incident happened at 2:10 p.m. on I-24 at Owl Canyon Road in the city of Wellington.
Police haven’t yet shared any details about the accident except to say that it closed both sides of the interstate. It’s not yet clear how many vehicles were involved or what caused the crash.
Authorities have not yet identified the person who died in the collision, nor have they specified the severity of the other victim’s injuries.
The southbound side of I-25 re-opened by around 4:41 p.m.
