Narrative
ERIE, CO – Multiple people were hurt Monday in a multi-vehicle collision along the highway in southwest Weld County.
The accident happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. along Highway 52 near County Road 3. This is in the city of Erie, about 14 miles east of Boulder.
Police haven’t yet disclosed the cause of the wreck, which they say involved two vehicles and a motorcycle.
Medics transported five people to the hospital with injuries. At least one person sustained serious injuries.
Officials closed Highway 52 between Northeast County Line Road and County Road 5 for around five hours while emergency teams assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.
