MEAD, CO – Two people went to the hospital last weekend after a major crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle in southwest Weld County.
Emergency teams reported to Weld County Road 32 in Mead on Saturday. This is west of I-25 and north of CO-66.
Police say that a motorcycle struck the back tired of a Subaru when the latter vehicle slowed down to make a turn off of County Road 32. As the Subaru was slowing to turn, the motorcyclist was attempting to pass the vehicle.
The force of the collision threw both the motorcycle operator, identified as 50-year-old Donald Dutton, and passenger, 58-year-old Debbi Kempf, from their bike and into the roadway. Medics transported both Dutton and Kempf to area hospitals with critical injuries.
The driver of the Subaru did not sustained injuries in the accident.
